I called the urologist’s office this morning and set an appointment for 1:00 next Monday. That’s all the news I have for now, but I’ll keep you posted!

Health update
Thank you to so many of you who wrote and said you are praying for me. I wanted to give a quick update to those who are reading but didn’t write. Last night, twenty-four hours after it started, the bleeding stopped. I still plan to get an appointment with the urologist, but I am encouraged that there was nothing visible in the CT scan that might have been serious and the bleeding stopped as quickly as it started. Your prayers were a great comfort to me! I will let you know if my urologist has any ideas about what happened.
Another trip to the ER
Last night, I went to the bathroom before going to bed and I came out to ask Mark if he’d thrown some old coffee out in the toilet. He said “No” and I kind of laughed. I wasn’t laughing this morning when it happened again.

I got a headache on December 30th, two days before we left Oregon, and I’ve had a headache at some point during every day since. This morning, I went to see a chiropractor. He worked really hard to try to loosen me up, but I just about went through the ceiling in pain before I got looser. I’m still not entirely loose, but I only had a brief headache this afternoon that went away without medicine.

Several of you have asked how Mark and I are feeling today. We are both a little sore but doing much better than yesterday. Thank you for asking!

This morning, he noticed that it was stiff.

I hope you all had a good Christmas in spite of COVID! We had a very small family Christmas this year.
Continue readingRIP Dobby
Fifteen years ago, toward the end of my first marriage, I saw an ad posted on the bulletin board at work for a kitten that needed a good home. The kitten’s name was Dabé. He didn’t look like a Dabé to me. He had huge ears for his little body and reminded me of Dobby the house-elf in the Harry Potter stories, so I named him Dobby.

A man in my church has a grandchild named Ashton who came for a two-week visit starting during the 4th of July weekend. Gene and his wife work all week and he didn’t want Ashton to be home alone, so he asked if Ashton could come to my place while he works. I readily agreed!

I had Merih come over this morning (and he was wearing a face mask because I had told him he needs to be cautious) and I called the COVID-19 hotline to try to make an appointment for him to be tested.
