Hey its me again.  Denise had an appointment with the hand doctor this morning.  In talking with her doctor, it was determined that Denise should have surgery on her wrist on morning of March 13th.  She spent some time with a nurse going over pre-op paperwork and instructions.  Not only did the nurse tell her she couldn’t wear any perfume, the nurse told me, as her escort I couldn’t wear any after shave or cologne!!  I understand being sterile but I ain’t gonna be in the operating room with her… Continue reading

Hey everyone!!

Bet you’re all wondering why Denise hasn’t posted a blog in a while??  Well, her hands have been giving her problems since we left Reno, NV.  Once we arrived here in beautiful Lynden, WA., we got her in to see a hand specialist. After checking Denise’s hands, this specialist referred her to an other specialist who works on the therapeutic side of the specialty.  After about a month worth of therapeutic treatments, there has been little to no improvement… Continue reading

Hand therapy

For the last several weeks to a month, I’ve been having pain in my wrists and thumbs.  My doctor diagnosed it as De Qervain’s Tenosynovitis.  I read up on that and basically it has to do with the tendons that go to the thumbs and the sheath that wraps tightly around the wrists.  My doctor referred me to a hand surgeon who in turn referred me to a hand therapist.  Today was my first day with the hand therapist. All sorts of good reports

This morning my Aunt Marg came and picked me up and took me to her home for the day.  Mark had called me last night and told me that my doctor’s office had left a message on his phone for me to call them.  When I got to Marg’s house I called the clinic and they told me that lab results they had taken last week came back normal.  I have been fighting an illness for several months and it seems I’m finally well! Down on my knees!

About a week and a half ago, Mark and I bought some cheap knee pads at Walmart.  They’re already nearly paper thin.  There are times when I get down on the floor looking for the places others are reluctant to stow things and I crawl from shelf to shelf.  Tonight we went back to Walmart and bought a more expensive pair that should last through the rest of this job. Easy come; easy go

Last night we got some snow.  It wasn’t enough to affect the roads, but there was a little on the roof of our car when we went out this morning.  It was too dark to see anything on the way to work, but in the fading light on our way home from work tonight, we could see snow on the mountains.  It was beautiful, especially as a backdrop to the darker foothills in front.
