This afternoon, I tried calling the Wisconsin Medicare line for free health insurance counseling. I don’t know whether I hit a wrong number or whether the call was hijacked, but I ended up in a scam call, and I’ll tell you what tipped me off. Continue reading
Autumn, when everything begins to settle down!
This weekend has been Fall Fest in Sister Bay, a time when all the locals know better than to try to go anywhere near Sister Bay. Today was my last official day at the Noble House for this season. Now that Fall Fest is over, things are winding down. I want to treat you to some of our fall colors… Continue reading
God is so good!
I haven’t had a chance to talk about Wednesday yet, and now I have news from today as well, so this could be a little bit longer than usual!
Kind of a shock to the system
Everything has been up in the air for us regarding our trip to Oregon for the next couple of months. My brother-in-law has been living in adult foster care most of this year, so we’re not sure where we will be living. But today, we got more unsettling news… Continue reading
Victorian Wedding Exhibit
I happened to have my camera with me at the Noble House today, and there was so much light streaming in the windows, I decided to take some pictures during a quiet moment. Trying to get Amtrak reservations
I have persuaded my mother to come out to Door County for a visit, but she is afraid to fly and she doesn’t like to travel alone, so I am going to fly out at the end of October and we are planning to take a train back here. Making train reservations has taken us twenty-four hours of frustration! Continue reading
Do you remember where you were a year ago today?
Exactly one year ago today, my family was gathered at the care facility where my sister, Sherill, had just died. I have been calling each member of the family in the last couple of days to ask what changes they’ve noticed since Sherill has been gone, or what they miss the most about her. Continue reading
