Mark’s progress: Rowley’s Bay

From the time Mark entered Door County, he has been staying with a couple from my church, John and Georgene Mann.  They let him park the RV in front of their milking barn.  They didn’t have the right kind of hookups for him, but between his generator and his propane tank, he managed.

Almost home!

Last fall, I wrote about how God opened the treasure houses of heaven and showered Mark and me with more blessings than we could have ever imagined.  Money was coming from multiple sources in unexpected ways.  But it wasn’t just monetary blessing.  I’ve been waiting for months to write about what God is doing for us… Continue reading

Work and school

If you’ve been following for the last few weeks, you know that I’ve been trying to get hired as a receptionist (or client services professional) at H&R Block for several weeks now.  I had the paperwork finished, but because the district manager died last month of a heart attack, my paperwork ended up getting booted out of the system.  The manager at the Tigard office, Diane, has been helping me get back into the system and I was finally hired on Monday, the 9th.  Tuesday was my first full day of work. Doesn’t anyone want to WORK any more?

Williams-Sonoma has been hiring for several weeks now and everyone they interview wants to work on the sales floor rather than in the stock room, even though we in stock earn $1 more per hour than the sales associates do.  Last week they thought they had a couple more people hired to work in stock, but the people never showed up and didn’t even call. From Milwaukie, OR

Originally we had planned for today to be a six hour day of travel and to have two hours left to travel tomorrow, but my older sister, Sherill, suggested we come the extra two hours and stay at her house tonight.  That sounded appealing so we took her up on it, but it did make for a very long drive.
