This morning, there was so much sleet and ice that Mark and I and my sister and her husband all stayed home from church. But this evening, I was committed to read a story I’d written at my church’s Christmas Eve service, so in spite of falling snow, Mark and I went. Here is the story I wrote: Continue reading

Christmas cards
I have begun getting Christmas cards, and I am beginning to send Christmas cards. Some of you may have plans to send me a Christmas card but not know what address I am currently at. Continue reading
Happy Thanksgiving!
I would like to wish my readers a Happy Thanksgiving. I know that some of you have had a rough year and finding things to be thankful for may be a challenge. Others are leading very busy lives and this holiday may feel like work to you, or it may feel like a chance to rest. I hope that you can all spend Thanksgiving with loved ones. Continue reading
How we spent the 4th of July
Yesterday (July 4th), Mark and I worked so hard that I wasn’t up to writing last night, but I have pictures to show how we spent our day off work. Continue reading
House dedication
Today was the Big Day we’ve been working toward. We got up this morning and took the bedding off the hide-a-bed we’ve been sleeping on in the living room and turned it back into a couch. We cleaned and prepared food and got ready for people to come to our house dedication which we had told everyone would start at 2:00. Our first guests arrived at 2:45. Continue reading
The eagle has landed!
Several of you have asked me about Mark. He left the day after Christmas and headed south for training in Florida. He arrived at his destination on Thursday, the 5th. On the 6th, he went to check out his new school.
Christmas 2016
So much to do, so little time! We wanted to go to the Christmas Eve service at church last night, but we were busy doing our last minute shopping and wrapping for each other after spending a day catching up on laundry and trying to get ready for Monday. We wanted to go to the Christmas day service this morning, but we were getting dressed, having breakfast, and opening our presents before going over to my older sister’s house for Christmas dinner. We had to leave her place early to continue getting ready for our big moves tomorrow. Still, we read the Christmas story and listened to “real” Christmas carols about Christ’s birth. It was a good day.
Starting a new tradition
I have been using my “spare” time, when I’m not working or tired and sore, writing Christmas cards, and some of you may already have received one from me. If you have a change of address since last year, please send it to me before I get to your name. So far, I’m into the “G’s”. This has precluded what little writing time I’ve had for my blog, but today I have pictures that I wanted to share.
Mother’s Day and the Big 6-0
Yesterday was Mother’s Day and I should have wished all you mothers out there a happy one, but I was too busy enjoying mine. Sorry! Today was my 60th birthday. It was relatively normal with some special elements. I have pictures from both days, although my pictures from today were taken on my phone and the quality isn’t quite as good. Continue reading
