Mark and I are parked in my sister, Sherill’s, driveway for the duration. (That phrase — “For the duration” — is, I believe, from WWII.) We will be here until we leave for Oklahoma. Continue reading

From Twin Rocks, OR
I hope you all had a Happy Valentines Day yesterday. Mark and I went to the restaurant where we took my pastor after he married us in Clackamette Park. We were remembering that after we were married and we took him out for dessert he said, “Well, now that I’ve married you, I should ask some questions.” He did the whole pre-marital counseling thing after the fact! God continues to pour out blessings on us…
I mentioned recently that Mark and I had dinner at the home of friends from his ward, Linnell and Craig Mikkelsen. What I didn’t mention was that as we were leaving Linnell gave us a carton of eggs from the chickens she raises. Continue reading
From Oregon City
This morning we got up and got the RV all set up for another move. We left Silver Falls State Park and came up to “Our Park” in Oregon City — Clackamette Park at the confluence of the Willamette River and the Clackamas River. I said in my last post I’d tell the story of how this came to be our park. Continue reading
Tax time and other business
We went to see our CPA today. He was a little surprised by the thickness of the file we brought with us. We’ve got some strikes against us, but they are hopefully balanced out by thousands of dollars-worth of donations we made as we were paring down from our house to our RV. I told our accountant we’ve had a complicated year, but he was pleased to see that we had records of just about everything. Continue reading
Last day in Los Gatos
Today there was still a little to be done to prepare for leaving, but we took some time off to do something fun. Continue reading
God answers prayer!
Confession time: Mark and I have been running out of food. We’ve been gratefully accepting invitations to eat out in the last week to stretch our food. Several days ago we ran out of meat. We’re out of fruit, vegetables, milk, bread. The cats ran out of food yesteday and we had $7.51 in coins that we took to Safeway to buy them food. We were $.31 short (we never know how to figure sales tax here) and a woman behind us paid it. She said she’s been there before. We’ve been praying blessings on her ever since. Continue reading
Blest be the tie that binds
Mark and I attended Saratoga Federated Church this morning. The final hymn was Blest Be the Tie That Binds and the final verse especially spoke to me:
When we asunder part, It gives us inward pain; But we shall still be joined in heart, And hope to meet again. Continue reading
Another goodbye
Tonight was the monthly Menno gathering at the Graber’s house just down the road from us. There was a guest speaker from First Mennonite who has a project called ALICE Arts. Continue reading
Our “work” this week
Mark finished working last weekend, so all this week he has been trying to prepare our RV for travelling. In the meantime, I’ve been preparing to say all my goodbyes. Continue reading
