All Saints Day

Because we arrived at this campground last night in the midst of their Halloween activities we didn’t get a chance to actually get registered.  So this morning before church we went to the office.  It was closed and a man who was working outside said that they didn’t open till 9:00 AM.  I had thought it was 9:00 so I looked at him quizzically and he said, “The time changed last night.”  Ah!  Being on the road I hadn’t kept up with when the time change was going to happen.  We came back an hour later and completed our registration. From Bowmansville, PA

This morning we touched three states before noon.  If only we’d been going in the right direction!  We wanted to avoid taking the toll road that runs across Pennsylvania, so I thought I programmed our first stop in Morgantown, WV.  What I actually clicked on was Morgantown, KY.  There ought to be a law that states can’t use the same names for their towns!  We figured out our mistake when we hit Ohio again and we turned around, but by the time we got back to our starting point in Washington, PA, it was already 12:30 pm.   Continue reading

From Washington, PA

Had we not reached our campsite in the dark last night, I could have shown a bit more what Ohio looks like.  As it is, within about half an hour after paying for our campsite this morning, we were out of Ohio.  I paid in the Bob Evans homestead museum which is right next to the first Bob Evans restaurant, and they said I had to at least get something from the restaurant so I could have bragging rights to having eaten at the first Bob Evans restaurant.  I went in and got Mark a cinnamon roll and myself a cornmeal muffin, so there!
