From Stone Mountain, GA

I had never heard of Stone Mountain, GA before we started planning this trip, but it was a place Mark wanted to see.  It just so happened that I have another friend I had never met before who lives on the opposite side of Atlanta and he and his wife were free to meet us tonight.  Here are today’s pictures: Continue reading

From Brunswick, GA

We crossed two state borders today, skipping over South Carolina.  We will be back in a week or so, but we are in a hurry to spend Thanksgiving with my cousin and his family in Orlando tomorrow.  By the way, Happy Thanksgiving to you all.  I trust you will be with family and enjoying the food, the fellowship, and “the game” (whichever one you watch). We’re not the only ones who work around here!

I thought I should tell a little bit about what the others do around here since the season is winding down.  Actually it isn’t going to feel much like it’s winding down this weekend because we have sixty three campers checking in for Labor Day weekend today. Continue reading

An extreme weekend

Happy Valentines Day!

I have always thought it would be romantic to take a horse-drawn carriage ride, and apparently a number of other people thought so too.  Mark and I made a dress-up date for tonight to go into San Antonio and take a horse-drawn carriage tour of the city.  Traffic was congested and we waited in line for nearly two hours, but we finally got our romantic ride in a Cinderella carriage!  Here are some pictures from this evening: Continue reading

Starting the New Year out with new things

When my nephew, Nate, was young, my sister Lauryn decided to do the gift giving on New Years Eve so that the family could focus on Christ’s birth on Christmas.  She figured it would be appropriate to start the New Year with new things, so the biggest family party of the year has ever since been New Years Eve with Lauryn as the hostess extraordinaire.  The food was always fantastic, but the biggest event was the gift exchange, especially the white elephant exchange.  Her parties were always the highlight of the year.
