I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving. If you’d like to write and tell me about it, I’d enjoy reading about it. Continue reading

Sleep, blessed sleep!
We had heard that Amazon was going to serve a holiday meal at 12:45 today, but we were scheduled to leave at 11:00 so we didn’t think we’d be able to participate. However, when we walked to the break room to get our coats and lunch box, the meal was already prepared and the caterers were standing around waiting for people to come and eat it. They said we could have it then, and we were so hungry we took them up on it. Continue reading
A promise kept
When we first arrived in Gore eight months ago, we tried out Emily’s Tea Room and I wrote about it. When I mentioned that it was done all in peacock décor, a friend of mine who has a peacock wrote and asked if I could get pictures of it next time I went. I promised I would, and I made good on my promise today. 🙂 Continue reading
End of the summer surprise!

The siren

Final goodbyes
I have such a jumble of feelings right now. I’m excited about my new job, of course, and nervous about our trip (especially with reports of weather conditions in the mid-west), but I’m also feeling a little blue about leaving my friends and family in Oregon. Continue reading
Welcome, Sherry and Virginia!
I never know who is reading my blog, so I like hearing from my readers. Yesterday I had a pleasant surprize. Continue reading
Game night
For the past two days I’ve been working on editing, and Mark has been running errands. It was time for a little fun. Jamey had sent out a general invitation for a game night at his office, so we decided to go. Continue reading
From Milwaukie, OR
Mark and I are parked in my sister, Sherill’s, driveway for the duration. (That phrase — “For the duration” — is, I believe, from WWII.) We will be here until we leave for Oklahoma. Continue reading
