Christmas message

Tonight we got off work early so we could attend the candlelight service at the Sun N Fun Community Church.  It took some time to get from work to Woodland Hall where the service was being held, but we were there before I was scheduled to do my reading.  I had been assigned to read John 1:1-14.  I memorized the whole thing in advance, but took my Bible up to make sure I didn’t forget anything.  We recreated my reading here at home for your listening pleasure: Continue reading

On top of Stone Mountain

Mark and I went to explore the mountain today.  We decided to be really daring and buy a one-way ticket for the sky tram to the top of the mountain.  There is a trail that people can take in either direction or both.  We weren’t daring enough to try both! Continue reading

From Stone Mountain, GA

I had never heard of Stone Mountain, GA before we started planning this trip, but it was a place Mark wanted to see.  It just so happened that I have another friend I had never met before who lives on the opposite side of Atlanta and he and his wife were free to meet us tonight.  Here are today’s pictures: Continue reading

From Brunswick, GA

We crossed two state borders today, skipping over South Carolina.  We will be back in a week or so, but we are in a hurry to spend Thanksgiving with my cousin and his family in Orlando tomorrow.  By the way, Happy Thanksgiving to you all.  I trust you will be with family and enjoying the food, the fellowship, and “the game” (whichever one you watch). From Bowmansville, PA

This morning we touched three states before noon.  If only we’d been going in the right direction!  We wanted to avoid taking the toll road that runs across Pennsylvania, so I thought I programmed our first stop in Morgantown, WV.  What I actually clicked on was Morgantown, KY.  There ought to be a law that states can’t use the same names for their towns!  We figured out our mistake when we hit Ohio again and we turned around, but by the time we got back to our starting point in Washington, PA, it was already 12:30 pm.   Continue reading

We’re not the only ones who work around here!

I thought I should tell a little bit about what the others do around here since the season is winding down.  Actually it isn’t going to feel much like it’s winding down this weekend because we have sixty three campers checking in for Labor Day weekend today. Continue reading

An extreme weekend

I was so extremely busy over the 4th of July weekend that there was no time to write.  For one thing, Mark had an eye appointment in Greenbay on Thursday so that took the better part of the day (it’s a four hour drive round trip).  We had a lot of campers over the holiday weekend so things were busy on the job.  Also, every chance I had to get on my laptop I was working on the report for Mark’s second mock inspection.  But there were also some fun activities and I got pictures. Happy Father’s Day!

I tried to call my father this afternoon to wish him a Happy Father’s Day but ended up having to leave a message on his answering machine.  Even better than that, Jamey left a Happy Father’s Day message on our answering machine for Mark.  I hope Dad gets as much pleasure from my message as Mark got from Jamey’s!
