4th Sunday of Advent, from Klamath Falls!

Hey everyone, we’re back in Oregon!  We’re staying with my younger sister, Lauryn, and her family in their new/old home.  It was built by a doctor in the early 1900s, and amazingly a bunch of his stuff is still here – his doctor bag, his license, his class picture, etc.  The house itself is very beautiful and has lots of character. Exploration – ATTN: Jamey!

This morning we tried Crosspoint Community Church which is only a few blocks away from us.  It meets on the bottom floor of a dance studio so it already doesn’t look much like a church, but the people also dressed very casually.  There are probably about twenty or thirty people in the congregation.  The band isn’t the best, but at least they did a mix of modern choruses and hymns with a beat.  The sermon was adequate.  It was no Saratoga Federated, but then again, it wasn’t like the churches I tried in Gore.  The people were friendly and I could settle there for a month and a half. Checking out Fernley

This morning we decided to find out for sure where Amazon is and time how long it takes us to get there.  It takes about forty minutes, and since we’re supposed to be to work by 7:00, we’ll need to get up at 5:00 on work days.  Oof!  The trip to and from work will be pretty, though, winding through the mountains with views of the Truckee River.  We don’t anticipate any traffic jams on that stretch of highway either. From Reno, NV

We had a shorter drive today; about three hours.  In that time I finished reading the book we’ve been working on this whole trip.  Interestingly I was right all along about who the killer was.  I’d make a good investigator!  Mark and I talked about it, and that’s probably what makes me such a good editor.  I make connections and catch incongruities.  I guess it would be safer to stick with editing! From Salt Lake City, UT; Part II

This morning we set the alarm and got up early for a day of touring.  The LDS church provides a free shuttle that stops at the airport and at our KOA and picks people up to take them to Temple Square for however long they want.  We went into the KOA office a little before 9:00 and asked them to call the shuttle, and in less than ten minutes it was here.  The driver was a really nice elderly man who was a little hard of hearing.
