Third Sunday of Advent

We have hot and cold running water for the first time in a week.  Praise the Lord!  We took a shower in the bath house before church, and when we got home from church Mark worked on the plumbing and finally got everything running.  It’s lovely to be able to flush the toilet and wash dishes again.  In fact, the first thing I did when Mark told me it was working was get a big glass of water to make lemonade.  I was thirsty! It’s been a quiet day at Grand Sierra

I started out the day with another rumination in bed before getting up.  In Spanish, seven is siete, eight is ocho, nine is nueve, and ten is diez.  So we have September, which is the ninth month, October which is the tenth month, November which is the eleventh month, and December which is the twelfth month.  How come?  Even if you account for the fact that the new year used to begin on April 1 (hence April Fools Day for those who forgot and wished people a Happy New Year after the change), the months would still be off.  Anyone got a clue what that’s all about? Sleep, blessed sleep!

We had heard that Amazon was going to serve a holiday meal at 12:45 today, but we were scheduled to leave at 11:00 so we didn’t think we’d be able to participate.  However, when we walked to the break room to get our coats and lunch box, the meal was already prepared and the caterers were standing around waiting for people to come and eat it.  They said we could have it then, and we were so hungry we took them up on it. From Salt Lake City, UT; Part II

This morning we set the alarm and got up early for a day of touring.  The LDS church provides a free shuttle that stops at the airport and at our KOA and picks people up to take them to Temple Square for however long they want.  We went into the KOA office a little before 9:00 and asked them to call the shuttle, and in less than ten minutes it was here.  The driver was a really nice elderly man who was a little hard of hearing.
