This morning, Mom was eager to go to the store so she came in to get me up. I’m not an early riser, but it’s not because I’m sleeping. I take that time first thing in the morning to read my Bible and pray.

And I helped!
At 3:30 in the morning this morning, the smoke detector in my bedroom started chirping. At 6:00, I finally crawled up on the dresser, took it down, put it in my bathroom, and shut the door, but I could still hear it.

This morning, I asked Mom if I could borrow her car to go get some cereal and she said yes, but I ended up getting more than cereal and was gone longer than Mom had anticipated, so she called me and asked if I was lost. I was just having way too much fun!

When you have two women in the same house who love the same man and want to do him good, there can be a difference of opinion as to what that might be. After discussing things, it seemed best for me to move to Mom’s house and only be there for Dad as needed.

Dad was disappointed that it wasn’t going to be a regular church service, so after about 20 minutes of being there, he decided he wanted to go home. There was a clan gathering to get ready for.

First thing this morning, Dad’s eyes popped open and he was awake and alert. He wanted to get out of bed and go to his bathroom to get a bath and a shave and get dressed for company. It was great to see him on his feet using his walker. Elaine and I were right there in case he should fall, but he did fine. He even ate a good breakfast!

I had opened the front blinds so that I could see when Dad was brought home this morning. Finally, a big van pulled up and I went out to meet Dad. He was sitting up in a wheelchair and had been directing the driver to his house!
