My last day of work was on Tuesday, the 18th, and Tuesday evening Mark and I began to pack the accumulation of furniture and clothing that family had given us into the back of our truck. Wednesday morning, I took Mark around with me to say goodbye to Mom’s neighbors whom I’d gotten to know. We left Mom’s house and stopped in Vancouver to have lunch with Mark’s mom. Then we headed up to Lynden, WA to get the rest of our stuff out of storage. Continue reading

Too weird for words!
Ever have one of those days that are too weird for words? Today was such a day for me. Continue reading
Mark’s progress: Rowley’s Bay
From the time Mark entered Door County, he has been staying with a couple from my church, John and Georgene Mann. They let him park the RV in front of their milking barn. They didn’t have the right kind of hookups for him, but between his generator and his propane tank, he managed.
Pics from Mark and me
This last week I was at my Dad’s house and he kept me so busy I didn’t write much. Mark and I have both had a chance to accumulate some pictures. I’ll start with his first:
Mark’s progress: Sturgeon Bay, WI!
This has to be quick because I need to get to bed, but I talked with Mark this evening and he is in Sturgeon Bay. He’s hooked up to the milk house of a couple from my church there in Sturgeon Bay who invited him to stay on their property for a couple weeks. He says they have horses, goats, and chickens, and the cats are fascinated! He sent me a picture with a joyous message: Continue reading
It’s ours!
Last weekend I finally announced that Mark and I were in the process of buying a house. We just had some finances to come up with before it would be ours. I had saved $3200 toward the closing costs, but they amounted to $5600. My older sister, Sherill, gave me $1400, but I still needed another $1000. Continue reading
The eagle has landed!
Several of you have asked me about Mark. He left the day after Christmas and headed south for training in Florida. He arrived at his destination on Thursday, the 5th. On the 6th, he went to check out his new school.
From Wausau, WI
After four years of moving around, we have finally learned that we need to make our first day a shorter drive than any of the others. This is because there is always more to do to get going than we anticipate, and because we stop on our way to load up with paper plates, plastic ware and easy food for the trip. We have to put everything on our counters (both bathroom and kitchen) into the sinks so it won’t fall on the floor while we are on the road. Thus, the need for paper plates! Continue reading
End of season staff party
Today all the campers were supposed to be out of here by noon. Mark and I needed to gather up any of the liquids we worked with that might freeze and put them in the heated garage. We also needed to do one last wipe-down, not a full cleaning, so that the bathrooms would be okay for the winter. Around 3:00 a couple people came in while we were working. Other than them, the campground was almost like a ghost town. Basically only the staff was here. Continue reading
