Yesterday morning, I got up and looked at the bedroom walls after we had skim coated them and was disappointed to see that the holes still showed. Last night, we skim coated them again.

Shopping!
I had saved about $600 from my pay at H&R Block with which to get furniture. I figured it might be enough to get me a dining room table and chairs, and hopefully a small dresser as well. I asked my friend, Judy Boldt, a thrift shopper extraordinaire and the president of my Wisconsin fan club, to take me thrift shopping. She has spent the last two days taking me to thrift stores from Sturgeon Bay to Sister Bay. Continue reading

From La Grande, OR
My last day of work was on Tuesday, the 18th, and Tuesday evening Mark and I began to pack the accumulation of furniture and clothing that family had given us into the back of our truck. Wednesday morning, I took Mark around with me to say goodbye to Mom’s neighbors whom I’d gotten to know. We left Mom’s house and stopped in Vancouver to have lunch with Mark’s mom. Pics from Mark and me
This last week I was at my Dad’s house and he kept me so busy I didn’t write much. Mark and I have both had a chance to accumulate some pictures. I’ll start with his first:
Mark’s progress: Sturgeon Bay, WI!
This has to be quick because I need to get to bed, but I talked with Mark this evening and he is in Sturgeon Bay. He’s hooked up to the milk house of a couple from my church there in Sturgeon Bay who invited him to stay on their property for a couple weeks. He says they have horses, goats, and chickens, and the cats are fascinated! He sent me a picture with a joyous message: Continue reading
It’s ours!
Last weekend I finally announced that Mark and I were in the process of buying a house. We just had some finances to come up with before it would be ours. I had saved $3200 toward the closing costs, but they amounted to $5600. My older sister, Sherill, gave me $1400, but I still needed another $1000. Continue reading
