From Pelham, AL

It’s not easy sleeping in a cabin with a hard mattress and two cats who are loose around you all night.  By the time morning rolled around, we were ready to get out of there.  It took three trips over to where our RV was for Mark to transport the cats and our stuff back, and the second time he returned to the cabin he told me that the part for our RV had just come in.  By the time I was able to go over, the guys were saying the RV would be done in an hour and a half.  Mark and I decided to check out the town while we waited.  There wasn’t much to the town, but we found this beautiful field: Continue reading

Plan B

This morning we called several service centers to see if they could work on our RV but they all said no.  Finally, Mark asked at the office of the park we’re staying in to see if there was anyone they could recommend.  They recommended a little shop not far from here so we took the RV to the shop. From Madison, FL

I want to thank all my new Sun N Fun readers for the warm send-off you gave us.  So many of you came by as we were packing up and getting ready to leave.  Your heartfelt farewells and “Have a safe trip” wishes were much appreciated.  We didn’t get out of Sun N Fun till 2:00 this afternoon.  I think that’s the latest we’ve ever started out from a job site, but there were so many of you who said you’ll miss us.  It kind of put a lump in my throat! My camera died :-(

So many of you have told me since I’ve been blogging how much you enjoy my photos.  I had noticed on our way down here that something was wrong with the pictures I was taking.  When I started in the photo club here, I also observed that I was getting an E:6210 error message.  I followed several suggestions the facilitator gave me, and someone else tried to help, but to no avail.  Last week I took my camera to a camera shop someone in the club had recommended and learned that it had to do with the stabilization in my lens and would cost a minimum of $233 to fix it.  No can do! What I’ve been doing in my off time

I haven’t sent many pictures lately because I’ve been having technical difficulties with both my camera and my laptop, but tonight I mean to rectify the situation.  Besides sewing and quilting, I’ve also joined a photography club, and I’m learning a bit about ways to improve my photography through the way I shoot pictures and also through the editing process.  We’re practicing on dogs because you can’t control them so you have to learn how to go with the flow.  Here are some shots I took at the dog park last week: Continue reading

I want to do it all!

This morning we met with Mary Beth and she took us on a tour of all the places we’ll be cleaning.  When we first talked with her in our phone interview, she said we’d be cleaning the bath houses, and I thought she said we’d be cleaning the activity center.  Today I realized she said the activity centers!  Remember all those shops I mentioned before?  The lapidary shop, the stained glass shop, the art center, etc, etc?  No wonder it’s going to be a forty hour a week job! Our last day of sightseeing on this trip

Today marks our last day of sightseeing on this trip.  We took advantage of it to see St Augustine.  First we visited the old jail, set up as it was in 1908. Continue reading
