Last weekend I finally announced that Mark and I were in the process of buying a house. We just had some finances to come up with before it would be ours. We had a shorter drive today; about three hours. In that time I finished reading the book we’ve been working on this whole trip. Interestingly I was right all along about who the killer was. I’d make a good investigator! Mark and I talked about it, and that’s probably what makes me such a good editor. I make connections and catch incongruities. Mark and I had a wonderful time with family the last few days. My mother graciously hosted us, we visited my aunt and got a tour of my cousin’s new home in Sherwood, we spent a couple hours visiting my son and daughter-in-law in their home this morning, and we had a big, wonderful family gathering for Thanksgiving this afternoon. Laundry room remodel
This was supposed to be the first day of our weekend, but Mark and Adam started out the day by pulling the washing machine and dryer and the old carpet out of our laundry room. That carpet has been the bane of my efforts to clean because any time I vacuumed near the edges, long strands of carpeting would get stuck in the roller under the vacuum cleaner and make it stop.
