The cutest thing happened today in the Activity Center. I have noticed that young children like to make things for their parents. Today a boy who is about to enter kindergarten came in and wanted to make something for his dad whose birthday was yesterday. Continue reading

Our next gig
For several weeks now I’ve been mum about negotiations we’ve been making for when this job in Oklahoma ends. I wanted to be a little more certain it was going to happen before saying anything, but we have a tentative offer of employment and we’re in the process of jumping through all the hoops, so I think we can safely say we know where we’re going next… Continue reading
Thanks all!
I’ve had all sorts of responses and suggestions from my post about the flea problem we’ve been having. I think we managed to solve the problem yesterday but it also just about did me in as well… Continue reading
Fleas!
On our last weekend we focused on trying to get rid of fleas in the RV. In all fairness to our cats it must be said that we brought the fleas in on our clothes. Continue reading
After effects
We saw at least one person pull out this morning in the midst of the storm, but it seemed like most people stayed, and many of them came to the Activity Center. Everyone had a story to tell from last night, from those that slept through the whole thing to those who took the time to meet and visit with those who were in shelter with them. Continue reading
The siren
First of all, we’re okay. For those of you back home, the storm alert system here works, and Jeff and John drive around and check on everyone who might not have heard it. Continue reading
Our weekend
Yesterday, Wednesday, we went down to the Activity Center as plain old campers so that I could spread out some fabric I got for a skirt I want to make for Western Weekend. I also wanted to be there in case Cathy had any questions because it was her first time of running the place by herself. She did have a few questions, but on the whole she seemed to be doing okay. Continue reading
Our weekend
Yesterday Mark went in to work for four hours because he has to go to the VA tomorrow morning. He worked on painting our jousting pole. If it ever stops raining long enough, I’ll get a picture of it to send. Continue reading
Mother’s Day Weekend
This morning was the start of Sunday morning breakfasts for the season at Marval, and it’s the only weekend when moms get to eat free with a paying family member, so Mark and I headed over so we could have breakfast at 7:30 before starting work at 8:00. For $5.00 (the price of Mark’s meal) Mark had eggs, sausage and biscuit, and orange juice. I had a biscuit with sausage gravy and a sausage patty as well as orange juice and chocolate milk. It was a filling breakfast, and so nice not to have to fix breakfast and do dishes! Continue reading
Mark’s audiology appointment
For the last couple of days, Mark has been limping because his knee is bothering him. Today he spent a good part of the day in bed trying to rest his knee. We did get out for a bit this afternoon to go up to Muskogee for his audiology appointment. Continue reading
