Mark’s progress: Rowley’s Bay

From the time Mark entered Door County, he has been staying with a couple from my church, John and Georgene Mann.  They let him park the RV in front of their milking barn.  They didn’t have the right kind of hookups for him, but between his generator and his propane tank, he managed.

Mark’s progress: Sturgeon Bay, WI!

This has to be quick because I need to get to bed, but I talked with Mark this evening and he is in Sturgeon Bay.  He’s hooked up to the milk house of a couple from my church there in Sturgeon Bay who invited him to stay on their property for a couple weeks.  He says they have horses, goats, and chickens, and the cats are fascinated!  He sent me a picture with a joyous message: Continue reading

Mark’s progress: Goshen, IN

It was a dark and stormy night when I reached Mark… for him, not me.  He was still driving and he was near Lake Michigan after having crossed two and a half states.  Every so often he’d say, “Wow!” and I’d know there had been another massive lightning strike like you only get in the Midwest. Almost home!

Last fall, I wrote about how God opened the treasure houses of heaven and showered Mark and me with more blessings than we could have ever imagined.  Money was coming from multiple sources in unexpected ways.  But it wasn’t just monetary blessing.  I’ve been waiting for months to write about what God is doing for us… Continue reading

From Wausau, WI

After four years of moving around, we have finally learned that we need to make our first day a shorter drive than any of the others.  This is because there is always more to do to get going than we anticipate, and because we stop on our way to load up with paper plates, plastic ware and easy food for the trip.  We have to put everything on our counters (both bathroom and kitchen) into the sinks so it won’t fall on the floor while we are on the road.  Thus, the need for paper plates! End of season staff party

Today all the campers were supposed to be out of here by noon.  Mark and I needed to gather up any of the liquids we worked with that might freeze and put them in the heated garage.  We also needed to do one last wipe-down, not a full cleaning, so that the bathrooms would be okay for the winter.  Around 3:00 a couple people came in while we were working.  Other than them, the campground was almost like a ghost town.  Basically only the staff was here. God’s provision for us

We went to my church, Community Friends Church, yesterday.  In the “programmed” Friends meetings, there is a time for open worship.  This is a designated five or ten minute period of silence where people can talk about what God is doing in their lives, ask for prayer, read a passage of scripture, sing, or whatever they feel moved by the Spirit to do.  So I shared about coming to the point of thanking God that we won’t be able to come back to Wagon Trail Campground next year and that my life is in upheaval and I don’t know what He’s doing, but deciding to trust Him.
