I worked this morning and missed the inauguration of President Biden, but this evening, I had the opportunity to watch the entire replay. I am not going to talk about parties and divisions, but I want to say that I was heartened by the pastoral prayers, the scriptures quoted, and the singing of Amazing Grace and a quote from another hymn. I was reading this morning that Twitter has reported there are more attacks being planned for the 17th and the 20th. There were photos of tweets from the extremists saying they plan to come out in numbers greater than the police and the National Guard who are planning to provide security for the inauguration, and that these groups are planning to bring guns. Would you join me in praying for safety for the politicians, the police, the National Guard, and the average citizens of Washington DC for the next month? God help us all!
