I had promised my co-worker, Kay, that I’d cover for her leaving early (her last day was Saturday the 30th) since she covered for me taking an extra day to go to Valdez. However, as I got to talking with Rose about working today, I realized that she is going to be very short-staffed tomorrow (Monday the 1st) so I offered to come in then instead. I had originally thought Mark could just attend his church while I worked today, but since I didn’t have to go to work after all I went with him this morning. Continue reading

Many beloved hymns
Wow! I had quite the response to my request for the words to your favorite hymns! I received words to a number of hymns I don’t think I’ve ever heard before, but the words are wonderful. I’ll try seeing if I can find the hymns on Spotify or YouTube so I can hear the tunes. Thank you to all of you who sent me so many great hymns!
Business is winding down
The summer is winding down and business has been so slow that most of the time there isn’t a need for two people in the office. The last couple days I’ve spent most of the day outside picking up trash by hand. Continue reading
On the mend… physically and spiritually
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you to all of you who sent well wishes and prayers for me. Tonight I feel almost human again and I’ve been told by an on-call nurse that I am no longer contagious, even though I’m still sniffling and sneezing and coughing. Tomorrow I’m going to try half a day at work and see how I do. Poor Miss Rose has had to cover for me too long! Continue reading
Happy Easter!
I know that most of you won’t get this in time for Easter, so happy belated Easter. This evening we took Aunt Marg to see Heaven is for Real. It’s based on a book by a pastor named Todd Burpo. Reverend Burpo tells the story of his four year old son, Colton, who had a near fatal illness and came back saying he’d been to heaven. If you haven’t seen this movie or read the book, I highly recommend it. Continue reading
Thanksgiving and dancing for joy!
I just realized I haven’t written in nearly a week. It’s not that I haven’t had things to write about, but I’ve been busy experiencing things to write about. Continue reading
Universal Reconciliation
This morning Mark and I went to his sacrament meeting and then we high tailed it to the forum class at Reedwood Friends. A woman who was influential in me becoming a member there, a professor of theology, was in town and led the class. Continue reading
Second Sunday of Advent
This morning we were out of propane in our external tank (it seems to go faster in the cold weather) and our hot water pipes were frozen. Our water tank which can be used with a water pump was a fifty gallon block of ice. I ended up walking across the snow to get to the bath house across the street to take a shower for church. Continue reading
The first Sunday of Advent
This morning Dale LaFrance preached about the timing of Christ’s birth. I found it very interesting and thought I’d share it with you. Continue reading
A bit of a scare!
This morning when we got to work, I put our lunch pail in one of the refrigerators in the break room, as usual. At our first break, I couldn’t find it. Continue reading
