God answers prayer!

Confession time:  Mark and I have been running out of food.  We’ve been gratefully accepting invitations to eat out in the last week to stretch our food.  Several days ago we ran out of meat.  We’re out of fruit, vegetables, milk, bread.  The cats ran out of food yesteday and we had $7.51 in coins that we took to Safeway to buy them food.  We were $.31 short (we never know how to figure sales tax here) and a woman behind us paid it.  She said she’s been there before.  We’ve been praying blessings on her ever since. Christmas memories

I was born into a family that belonged to a very small sect called the Thompson Brethren.  Actually, they didn’t call themselves much of anything except The Meeting.  The Thompson Brethren were started back in the early 1900s by a series of tent revivals led by a man named Nels Thompson.  They were (and are still) very Bible based. 29 Gifts

I guess it must have been about a year ago that I discovered an organization called 29 Gifts.  They have a 29-Day Giving Challenge.  The idea is that you give at least one gift a day for 29 days and record what happens.  They don’t have to be big expensive gifts; even a smile and a kind word to an overworked store clerk counts.
