A bit of a scare!

This morning when we got to work, I put our lunch pail in one of the refrigerators in the break room, as usual.  At our first break, I couldn’t find it.

I checked and double checked, and so did Mark.  We looked on the shelves around the break room.  I even surreptitiously looked at the lunch boxes people had out on the table in front of them.  Mark went out to the car to be sure we hadn’t left it there.  It was nowhere to be found.  I told our problem solver about it, and she took us to security to report it.  Both of them also looked for it, but it wasn’t there.

The problem wasn’t just that we had to buy food from the break room to eat for our break.  The real problem was that a full bottle of Mark’s medication that he needed to take at lunch time was in that bag.  Since the bottle was full, Mark and I both knew that the VA would say it was too soon to refill it and Mark would be without medication that he really needs.  I was in a near panic.

After break I ran into our friend, Bob, whom I know to be a Christian and asked him to pray with us that the bag would turn up somehow.  I also prayed fervently for the same.  When we clocked out for lunch, I asked the man from security if he’d found anything yet.  He said that he had waited till everyone returned to work after the break and checked again.  He had also gone to the break room on the other side of the building to check and hadn’t found it.  He was about to file a report on it.

I went to the break room and decided just to give the refrigerators one more try, and there was our bag!  Everything, including Mark’s medication, was still in it.  I went and showed it to the security officer who said he’d tear up his report.  He couldn’t understand how it got returned after everyone had returned to work in the morning.  I don’t know how God did it, but it was a wonderful answer to prayer!
