Update

Several of you asked me about the driver who drove off the ferry dock in Northport around 7:30 last Thursday. He was a 74 year old man and he didn’t make it. They got his body and the car out of the water and they’re doing an autopsy to try to figure out what happened, but they don’t believe it was a suicide because he stepped on his brakes before he went over.

Aurora Borealis

Everyone has been talking about the Northern Lights this week. Mark and I tried to find them tonight at Ellison Bluff County Park. I had seen some incredible pictures other people were taking tonight, but I couldn’t even see what I was aiming at. Several people had said they could only see it on their camera. This was the best I could do.

Car show

Mark and I are continuing our out-of-the-ordinary dates on weekends. The one in between the barn quilts date, we were going to go to the drive-in theater in Fish Creek for a movie, but they weren’t playing anything that Mark was interested in, so we went to a movie theater in Sturgeon Bay instead and watched the movie Reagan. Yesterday, we both played hooky from church and went to a car show down in Sturgeon Bay.

Barn Quilts

I have been really down this summer. You can blame it on grief over Dad’s passing, but it just seems like everything has been a disappointment. I just didn’t feel like writing much or doing much. I think I’m beginning to get my head above water this week. Mark and I recently decided we would have an unusual date every weekend. Today, we drove around Door County looking for barn quilts.

The Antique Tractor Show

There is an annual event at the Liberty Grove Historical Society in Ellison Bay that I vend at. I have a booth for The Longest Day, the fundraising branch of the Alzheimer’s Association. The was the weekend for the event and I was there all weekend.

Setting a record

I had COVID-19 and was off work all last week, so I was a little bit weak when I started back to work at the Welcome Center yesterday. Today was my day to work at the Noble House and it was raining, so there were two possibilities for how my day might go. It could either be quiet because no one was out in the rain, or it could be busy because everyone wanted to do something indoors. I was hoping it would be quiet.
