Besides work, Mark and I had a busy weekend that I only now have time to write about. Continue reading

A day of giving…with varied results
This morning I went down to church for my last day of volunteering to help with the sets for the Christmas play. The sanctuary is looking lovely and quite different. It looks like something from an older time and another place. Continue reading
Volunteering
Today I took Mark with me to volunteer to help build the sets for the church play. Note to self: Don’t volunteer Mark for anything without asking him first! He was not a happy camper. Continue reading
29 Gifts
I guess it must have been about a year ago that I discovered an organization called 29 Gifts. They have a 29-Day Giving Challenge. The idea is that you give at least one gift a day for 29 days and record what happens. They don’t have to be big expensive gifts; even a smile and a kind word to an overworked store clerk counts. Among God’s saints
I am in awe! When I first came to California in general and the Silicon Valley in specific, I thought I would have to settle for a church where people were rich and shallow. Instead, God has placed me in a land of spiritual giants! Continue reading
Christian fellowship
When Mom read about Mark and I attending the South End Mennonite gathering, she asked if I’m still attending Saratoga Federated Church. I am! I have been going there three weeks now, and I have already volunteered to help with the sets for the Christmas Continue reading

We brought two large round pumpkins and two walking sticks for a pumpkin race that was planned but apparently didn’t take place. Continue reading
And the winner is…
The last church I wrote about was church #10, Saratoga Federated. The reason I haven’t written about any since is because I have landed at Saratoga Federated. The first time I went to the 9:00 service which is contemporary, but then I tried the traditional service at 10:30 and really liked it! Continue reading
Church #10
I had fully expected to end my wandering ways and settle down at one church this month, but circumstances have continued to find me visiting a different church every week. This morning I visited the last church on my list of places I wanted to try. Continue reading
Quilting
When I visited the Peninsula Bible Church in Palo Alto last month, I saw they had many activities I was interested in, but Palo Alto is quite a distance from where I live, so I decided to choose one activity that only meets once a month. I chose to attend their quilting group today. Continue reading
