A day of giving…with varied results

This morning I went down to church for my last day of volunteering to help with the sets for the Christmas play.  The sanctuary is looking lovely and quite different.  It looks like something from an older time and another place.

I was only there for a short time today before I went to the monthly quilt group.  I look forward to going there every month and getting to do something creative.  The women there are fun to be with.  They tease each other good naturedly and talk about what’s going on in their lives.  Today I wore my quilted jacket that I only wear at Christmas time, and one of the women asked me if I’d made it.  When I said I had, several women came over and oohed and ahhed over it.  Someone else had made pot holder mitts that they gave to each of us as a thank you gift for all our help making quilts.  Also, the woman in charge brought out a box of old quilting magazines and patterns and said we could take whatever we wanted.  There were a number of patterns for dolls that I took.  I always come away from a day at the quilting group feeling good!

When I got home, I tried to do a good deed that didn’t go over so well.  Mark asked me not to write about it, so I will leave it at that.
