You may find this hard to believe, but of all the churches I’ve visited or attended in my life, I’ve never been to a Lutheran church. Since my daughter-in-law is Lutheran, I put a Lutheran church in Saratoga on my list of churches I wanted to visit, and today was the day I scheduled for visiting. Continue reading

Church #8
I wasn’t in the mood for an “O Happy Day! Praise the Lord!” kind of church today, so it was Provident that I had scheduled to go visit St. Nicholas Orthodox Church this morning. I have visited many churches in my day, and even a couple synagogues, but I have never been to an Orthodox church before. I had decided to visit this one today Continue reading
Church #7
After I went to San Francisco for church and commented on how long it takes to get there, my father wrote to me about a church in Palo Alto he suggested I try. The church is Peninsula Bible Church, and he said a former pastor of the church (now deceased) had written a book about what the church was doing that the church I spent my teen years in Continue reading
Dinner with friends!
This evening, Mark and I were invited to the home of a family that lives about a mile from us on Skyline Blvd. Kevin Graber and Jennifer Headings hosted the campout we visited on Labor Day weekend. They attend First Mennonite Church in San Francisco Continue reading
Church #6
This morning I visited Legacy Community Church in Los Gatos. I was late getting there because I didn’t realize that Saratoga Village was going to be blocked off for a celebration today and those who wanted to go through had to take a detour, but I got there while there was still music being sung. Continue reading
Church #5
I’m behind on writing. I haven’t been home much in the last couple days except to sleep and work. Continue reading

The story was taken from the real life story of Chris Gardner, a man down on his luck and living on the streets of San Francisco with his young son while he trained to be a stock broker. Later that year, when I was Continue reading
Campfire with neighbors
There were a couple people from the Mennonite church I attended last Sunday who e-mailed me this week and told me about a camp-out happening just up the road from us. There are a handful of people from 1st Mennonite that live south of San Francisco, and they periodically get together outside of church to fellowship together. Continue reading
Ready for women’s competition? Maybe soon.
Church #3
Mark had to get up extra early for work this morning, so I got up with him. At the last minute I decided to change the order of the churches I still want to visit, and it’s a good thing I did. This morning I drove nearly 50 miles to attend a Mennonite church in San Francisco. As it turns out, if I’d waited till next week, I would have gotten to that address and they wouldn’t have been there! They’re meeting in a park next week. Continue reading
