Today we crossed the Mackinac Bridge into the Upper Peninsula (UP) of Michigan. We can now say that we have slept in all forty-nine continental states and we’ve seen four of the five Great Lakes. (We saw Lake Huron while crossing the bridge today. The only one we haven’t seen yet is Lake Superior.)

Reading about the sinking of the Carl D Bradley. There were thirty-five crew members on board. Only two survived.

It’s a one and three quarter mile walk from where we parked to the lighthouse. We decided not to go all the way out.

Going in to register for the night was an education. Mark once gave me a bunch of quarters to put in a slot machine in Las Vegas. I lost most of it with nothing to show for it. I’m not into gambling.

It’s actually not a bad campsite. I was expecting to be in a parking lot like we were in Reno, NV when we worked for Amazon. (That’s the casino/hotel beyond the trees.)

We unhooked the truck and went back into Escanaba because someone said there is a lighthouse there as well.
This is our last night on the road. We are so excited about getting to Wagon Trail Campground tomorrow! It’s like going home.
What to you mean, “like going home” it is home…..for me at least
