The annual Mennonite/Amish quilt show

I’m behind in writing about something Mark and I did last weekend.  One of the local Mennonite churches had their annual Mennonite and Amish quilt show.  Mark took his camera and we spent an hour in there ooo-ing and ahh-ing.  It has taken me a few days to edit the pictures, but here they are:

I am in awe!

Most of the quilts were hand quilted. These days I'm used to more quilts being machine quilted, so this was a real treat!

This is a pattern I had never seen before: pleated petals.

Just look at those tiny stitches in each square!

Besides quilts, they also had handcrafts for sale.

I was looking to see how much the wall hangings cost because I'm working on one I want to sell.

I love this cathedral window design. I'd like to learn how to make it some day.

As I said above, I have been hand quilting the wall hanging I made from the materials I found in a thrift store in Door County last summer.  Our sewing group and quilt group are going to have an open house on March 7th and I am trying to finish it before then to see if I can sell it.  The proceeds will go to International Christian Response (ICR), an organization that helps persecuted Christians around the world.  I decided to do this last summer when I was so troubled by what ISIS was doing.  When I finish the wall hanging, I’ll have Mark take a picture of it so you can see it.
