From Tucson, AZ

We got to our spot behind my church here in Tucson last night. I wasn’t feeling very well (I seem to have picked up a cold in the last couple of days) so I pretty much went to bed right after dinner and slept soundly through the night.

Home, sweet home!

The temperature got up to around 80 today! This morning, the woman who cleans the church was dumping the trash out back when Tucson came running toward her. They are best buds and Geri was so happy to see that we are back. Later in the morning, I saw Pastor Adam, and I talked to him through the screen door of our RV, telling him that I didn’t want to get too close to him with my cold. It’s so good to be back and see all our friends down here again!

Mark worked on some repairs around here today and I tried to find places for all the stuff we brought with us. Then this evening, I called Dad’s house and spoke to him and Elaine. Dad was released from the hospital today. He will have to wear his neck brace for anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months, depending on how quickly his vertebrae heal. And he needs to use a walker and a special belt that Elaine has to hold onto any time he tries to walk somewhere. It’s not going to be easy for either of them because Dad is used to being fairly independent. That’s what got him into this mess in the first place. But they are surely both relieved to be back home and able to somewhat fall back into a normal routine. Thanks to those of you who were praying for him!
