From Milwaukee , WI

Mark and I have been trying to donate our old RV to Make a Wish for the last month, but every tow company they have tried to have come and pick it up has decided they couldn’t get it for some reason. We finally had to sign the title and leave it and the keys in the glove compartment. Hopefully, it will be gone by the time we get home next spring!

Before we left home, I took this picture of the map of where all we’ve been in that RV!

Yesterday, Mark winterized the plumbing in the house and we got ourselves moved back into our new RV. We didn’t have heat in the RV so I froze all night, even with a heavy stack of blankets on me.

This morning, I thought I got a text saying that the RV park we had reservations for this weekend was closed due to weather, so I made a reservation for us in a hotel. I got a call from the campground later to confirm our reservation and I said, “I thought you were closed due to the weather.” The guy I was talking with said that, no, they were open, and since we hadn’t given them 24 hours notice, they would be keeping our deposit. I was willing to forgo the money just so we could be in a warm room all weekend!

Mark finished getting everything closed up while I made sure we have everything we’ll need and got the inside of the RV ready to travel. We got the car hooked up to the back of the RV and finally left home around 3:00 this afternoon. We stopped at Camping World in Green Bay to pick up a part that will hopefully make it possible to heat the RV, and then we headed south. We arrived at our hotel around 8:45, exhausted and hungry. The last 45 minutes of the trip, it was snowing. I’m so glad we are in a nice, warm room!

We’ll be here in Milwaukee for Kader’s and Zak’s wedding on Sunday. I’ll try to get pictures of the festivities this weekend.
