It’s been a pretty good day in the Midwest. We woke up to sunshine. The park we had stayed in last night was kind of a city park and we could hear traffic, but it was still a pretty place.
We had a good drive through farm country and hills with lots of fall color.
When I was checking in at the office of Daly Park, the owner was telling me that he would be out during the evening at a church dinner. I asked him what church he went to and he said it was United Church of Mapleton. He said dinner was at 6:00 and we were welcome to come if we’d like. We decided to take him up on it. We changed clothes and drove into town. It was a small group tonight, but the food and the fellowship were good. After dinner, the pastor had prepared a little lesson based on the parable of the Pharisee and the sinner praying. We were included and felt welcome there. Nice, nice folks!
