From Cheyenne, WY

I thought I was going to have another bad report this evening because we had to turn off the highway again after only one and a half hours of driving, but something good happened. I’ll get to that later in the post.

We left Rock Springs this morning. It felt good to get back on the road.
Looks like more climbing ahead?
I love the way clouds cast shadows on the hills!
I see a bit of snowcap behind the lower mountains.
This was taken from the truck stop just east of Rawlins

We were directed off the highway again just past Rawlins, and we stopped at a truck stop for lunch. We had parked in such a way that if we had to put the slide-outs out for the night, we could, but we were hoping it wouldn’t come to that. Mark started sorting through papers and other places he hoped to find the weight of our RV. The highway restrictions are for semis and campers less than 20,000 pounds. If our RV weighed more than that, we could keep going. He finally found something that said our RV weighs 22,000 pounds. Praise the Lord! We could have kicked ourselves for not thinking about that before we paid for another night in Rock Springs, but now we know.

Another mountain peak is visible from the road
You can see how fast those windmills were spinning in the wind.
More windmills spinning fast
There were semis out there with us that must have been over 20,000 pounds.
I guess Wyoming makes good use of all the wind they get!
Another part of the Snowies we could see when we pulled into a rest stop

We had hoped to make it to Nebraska before stopping tonight, but with the delay outside of Rawlins, we couldn’t quite make it. We’re going to try to aim for getting through Nebraska tomorrow. It’s a long state, and it seems to me like we have taken 2 days to get through it before, but Mark says we can do it. Keep those prayers coming our way!
