Feathering our nest

My friends, Kathryn and Judy, came over this morning and picked me up to go thrift shopping.  Judy had given me a gift certificate at Bargains Unlimited for a housewarming gift so I asked her to help me spend it!

I showed you the valances I had gotten before, but there had been some matching cafe curtains there that I hadn’t bought.  I was really hoping they were still there, and one panel was.

I had to touch up the picture a bit because when I take night shots in the bedroom, they make the walls look much more yellow than they are.

I also wanted to find a table lamp for one of the rooms, and I found one for the living room:

It matches the couch fairly well.

It only cost $16!

I’ve been looking for something to put up on the high shelf between the kitchen and the dining room, and I found the perfect thing:

I love fruit and this just makes me feel happy every time I look at it!

We are making progress toward moving into our bedroom.  Yesterday, Mark tried to put the bed frame together, only to discover that they didn’t send the bolts that connect it to the headboard.

So close and yet so far!

Tonight we brought the dresser and mirror in. We can finally put our clothes away!

I’m still hoping to be moved into our bedroom by our anniversary at least, which is next Tuesday.  I’m happy about the progress we’re making!

I picked a new bouquet of flowers from my yard today and I’ll leave you with this happy image:

Lupine, lilacs, geraniums, and some small flower I'm not familiar with.
