Family reunion

When we decided to spend a couple nights in Lynden, we knew that we would see Aunt Marg.  When my mother found out we’d be here for a couple nights, she and my stepfather came up from Portland to visit with us.  An unexpected pleasure was discovering that Mark’s mom and stepfather were staying in Birch Bay and wanted to see us.  Marg invited them for dinner at her house and we spent a very pleasant evening visiting.

I got to spend the whole day with Mom and Marg, playing Banana Scrabble, doing my laundry, running errands and fixing dinner.  In the meantime, Mark had an appointment at the VA in Mount Vernon, and then he stopped in at Camping World and bought us a new tow dolly.  The one we’ve been using has served us well for two years, but it is rusty and important parts of it have begun breaking, so this was a necessary purchase.

Dinner with family was a great time to relax and visit after a busy day.  My mother had met Mark’s mother before but not his stepfather, and Aunt Marg had never met either of them.  It was great to look around the room and see all our parents getting acquainted and really enjoying each other.  There was also some time to watch the lake in Marg’s back yard and the sunset on what was showing of Mt. Baker.  What a way to end the day!
