Good day, Sunshine!

We don’t have a bed in our bedroom yet, so we’ve been sleeping on the hide-a-bed in our living room.  This morning when I opened my eyes, I looked out our dining room window and smiled…

Even without my glasses on, I could see that the sun was coming up.

A few minutes later, I could see it coming through the trees in our woods.

Mark and I were busy today.  Monday Mark will be starting to do de-winterizations for his first clients.  He has been working on a checklist he can follow, so this morning he did a mock de-winterization on our RV.  In the process, he figured out a better order to do the steps in and he realized he was going to need another tool.

While he was working on that, I did some more laundry.  With the sun out today, even though it was a bit chilly out, I decided to use my clothesline in the back yard.

It was breezy, too, which helped some with the drying.

On the left, you can see I got a bag for holding clothespins.  I remember my grandmother doing it this way.  For any of you who might remember, is it okay for me to leave the bag of clothespins out during all kinds of weather, or am I supposed to bring it in if it rains?

The white shirt and pillow cover on the line were a challenge.  I washed them, along with my white sweater which needed to dry lying flat, three times!  The first time I used a gel stain remover.  The second time I used Shout.  The third time I used something called Grandma’s Secret Stain Remover.  I also used bleach for two of the washings and all three were done in cold water.  The stains came out of my white sweater, but not out of Mark’s shirt or the pillow cover.  All three are a bit brighter, but apparently none of the stain removers work for the kinds of stains I was trying to remove.

I also made several trips back and forth from the RV bringing in our dishes, silverware, cooking utensils and pots to be washed and sorted.  I divided things up so that I had some stuff in the RV and some in the house.

Around lunch time, Mark said he was going to the hardware store to get that tool he needed and I asked to go along.  We had lunch at The Viking.  Then we made several stops and got things we noticed a need for in the house and around the yard.  For instance, we got something that is supposed to kill the moss you can see in the picture above.

When we got back home, I continued washing and drying numerous loads of dishes while Mark started pruning the tree next to our driveway.  When I finished with all the dishes and took the ones destined for the RV out, I started papering the shelves again.  It worked a little better today.  Once the shelves were lined, I opened the boxes that have been all over my kitchen counters and started putting dishes and kitchen utensils away.

By the time Mark came in, we were both exhausted.  For dinner, he zapped us each a bag of popcorn.  Then he built a fire in our wood burning stove and we’ve been enjoying a little sit-down time.  It’s been a good day!
