Mark and I spent today working on the Trail of Terror. Our last five weekends here will be devoted to Halloween, and the Trail of Terror is apparently the biggest event of the year. It’s a long trail through a wooded area on the edge of Marval’s property. There are a number of terrifying things along the trail.
The first thing we did was paint the inside of a “building” completely white. Mark sprayed it with an airbrush while I held a light for him. He said I was his beacon! 🙂 Then he spayed stripes in another “building” before stopping for lunch.
After lunch we cleaned the paint sprayer and transported electronics from the garage to the shop to be checked out. When we finished that, we were sent back down to the trail to fix a wall that we weren’t sure of the location of. I sprayed myself really good before going in, and I was wearing my Marval cap. I took Mark’s cap to him on one of my trips transporting supplies in to where he thought we were supposed to work. We were there till quitting time. As it turns out, we apparently didn’t repair the right thing, but we did repair something!
When we got home I suggested we strip and look for ticks on each other. It’s a good thing I did. I didn’t have any ticks on me that Mark could see, but he had one on his leg. Just a few weeks ago we’d seen a report on TV about what to do if you find a tick on you. I got a pair of tweezers and gently pulled the tick out of Mark’s leg without breaking its head off.
I found it interesting that Mark had long socks on as well as long pants, and the tick had gotten in under his socks. I was wearing anklets under my long pants, but I had sprayed myself really well with Deep Woods Off. That’s the only thing I can attribute to why one got on him and not me. We’ll both be spraying ourselves before going into the woods again!
The trail is 1/2 mile long……I’m really tired of spraying ourselves for fleas ticks and what ever else there is. Its why I stopped wearing shorts to work….
