The house

This morning, there were some highs and lows. Mark was able to fix our plumbing situation, so we have water now. Yay! Then we planned to go out and look around some more, but when Mark turned the key in the car, nothing happened, not even a sound. Mark tested the battery, and it was fine, so he got out and rocked the car, and it started right up.

We went to a hardware store so that Mark could return an extra piece he didn’t need, and when he came back out to the car and turned the key, nothing happened again. He tried rocking the car, and this time it didn’t work.

We called Good Sam Roadside Service, and they said it would be an hour or so before they could get to us.
It didn’t take a whole hour. The driver took us to a service station called Supreme Auto.

Supreme Auto was a most unusual place. They found that the starter had died, so they replaced that. Afterward, they did a thorough inspection and found that the serpentine belt was split in half lengthwise. It could have gone at any time. They replaced that, did a reverse clean and flush of the cooling system, and replaced the spark plugs. We had an appointment to see the house at 2:00, and we could see that it was going to take longer, so we postponed it until 5:30. When they finished and we paid the bill, they asked us to call when we got where we were going to let them know that we were safe. What other Auto shop does that?

We have found people here to be really friendly. Everywhere we go, people wave and smile at us. It has a hometown flavor!

After we got the car fixed, we headed over to the house. We met the realtor, Loren, there at 5:30.
Looking up at the house
It’s a double-wide manufactured home. You can see some of the view beyond the house.
The kitchen and the island
I liked some of the details, like the grape tiles behind the kitchen sink.
The living room
I might want this room with a wood-burning stove for my sewing room!
The master bedroom
The tub in the master bathroom
His and hers sinks!
The laundry room. This house has 3 doors that go to the outside. That seems to me like that’s a good thing for safety!
The garage. This lady has a lot of stuff to take with her when she moves to Idaho! Without all the junk, it’s a good-sized garage.
From the outside
The majority of the 3 acres is below the house. Mark saw the old truck and the shipping container and asked if the woman would like to leave those behind for him. The realtor is going to ask.
The cool thing about the lower part of the property is that it has these 2 RV hookups. One is 30 amps and the other is 50 amps. There’s no septic for the RVs, but it has water and electricity. We could park our RV down here! Those are the neighbors’ houses across the street.
The view is spectacular!

I realize that it needs some work, especially in the landscaping, but it has potential! The next-door neighbor has goats. The realtor told Mark about good fishing spots, a river with a sandy beach, places where you can hunt ducks, antelopes, deer, and elk. There’s also a 9-mile hike through a canyon and several big community activities. Mark and I told the realtor we’re definitely interested.
