This afternoon after Mark and I finished cleaning, we were in the office chatting with Rosanne when we looked out the window and saw Joe Velez filling the bird feeders in the courtyard.  Then we saw something incredible that Mark was able to take pictures of on his phone…

I think that’s a chickadee sitting on the top of the bird feeder hanger.

The bird jumped down to the feeder and I saw Joe bring his hand up. I thought, “He’s never going to get it to come to him.”

Boy, was I wrong!

The bird sat there for nearly a minute.

I have seen how gentle Joe is with animals. This is just another indication of how much they trust him!

I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes.  Joe says he’s done this before but there was never anyone around with a camera.  I’m so glad Mark had his Smartphone in his pocket!
