Family

Mark and I were running a couple errands this afternoon when my cousin, Dan, called and asked if we could come and help move some furniture at a business across the street from his shop.  We said yes.

Dan’s son-in-law is an architect and is setting up a shop in this building.  The building is divided into three parts.  At one end, the inside is under construction where his office is going to be.  The other two sections had furniture in them, but they wanted to get all the furniture into the center section.  Part of the furniture is going to go into the office when it’s finished, so we moved that furniture closer to that end of the room so it will be handy when the time comes.  The other part of the furniture in the center section belongs to Dan and his wife and they are storing it there for now.  It was kind of sprawled out, so we consolidated it over against the back wall.  The room at the other end had furniture that belongs to a friend who is living out of the area at the moment.  Some of the pieces she had were large and heavy.  Fortunately, by the time we got to that part, Dan’s son, Justin, and Justin’s friend were there, so they were able to do some of the heavier lifting.

In the end we had the three sets of furniture packed in the center room so that there was still plenty of room in the center to maneuver around.  We came to help because that’s what family does, but Dan paid us as well.  We are deeply grateful!
