A lucky day!

First of all, I’ve got to tell you a joke I made up!  You know the saying, “Be alert; the world needs more lerts”?  I thought of that today when I was looking at a sign at work that said, “Stay alert.”  Then I thought of a new saying all on my own:  “Walk ahead; it could use the exercise!”  Get it?  😉

OK, so here’s what’s been happening today.  Amazon has been having all sorts of drawings during this peak season, and today Mark won a $15 gas card!  He won’t be able to collect it till Friday when the office is open, but he said he rarely ever wins anything, so it was a great start to our day!

On our way home from work tonight, we stopped at a Pilot truck stop and signed up to take a long, hot shower there.  It felt so good!  Afterwards we ate at the Wendy’s there and then Mark bought himself one of those hats with the ear flaps that can come down under the chin or fasten on top.  I have one like that, so now we can both be warm!

Yesterday morning the temperature on the way to work was 8*.  This morning it was 13*.  It’s getting warmer!

  1. Yesterday someone said, “When the cola wars explode…” I said, “You mean they’re getting shaken up?”

It didn’t occur to me that Nevada would be colder than Oregon! In hindsight I suppose that’s normal for an inland desert state in winter. We’ve been having temperatures hovering around freezing, with some nights down to 16 Fahrenheit. (Or, as I’ve set my laptop to describe it, -9 C. Because metric!)
