Beginner’s luck!

Today was another day off in paradise.  Mark and Adam wanted to go shooting this morning since no customers or members were here.  Beth and I also joined them.  Adam trained me how to set up and pull the trap for them that throws out a clay “pigeon” (which looks more like a clay Frisbee) for he and Mark to shoot at.  Mark hasn’t done that kind of shooting before, but he was picking it up pretty well.  Of course, Adam has been practicing for a year since he’s been here, so he did better, but Mark will get lots of practice here, I’m sure.

Then we all moved up to the targets and Adam showed me how to handle a .22 rifle safely, how to load it, hold it, aim, and fire it.  The target was a standard bull’s eye.  I wouldn’t use a human silhouette.  The scope on the rifle was set for 100 feet, but I was firing at a target 25 feet away.  After a while, I told Mark I was having a hard time seeing the orange dot Adam had put in the center.  Mark and I walked out to look at it.  Here is what we saw:
