Much as I enjoy working at Amazon, I’m so glad this week is over! It’s time to give my feet a rest.
When we got home tonight, the first thing I did was remove my socks and shoes. I went into the bedroom to get my slippers and stepped on a cold wet spot on the carpet. There’s a large area that’s soaked. Mark was afraid at first that some water pipe had broken, but after checking things out outside and everywhere he could get to in the bathroom/bedroom area, he now thinks it’s the hose that goes to our cold water faucet in the bathroom. Everything we stored under the bathroom sink is soaked. Mark says we may have to buy a new faucet to fix it.
This morning when we left for work, there was snow even on the highway. We followed a snow plow for a couple minutes. I have always thought that a snow plow would shovel the roads off completely, like when a person shovels their driveway. I discovered that it’s not so. The snow plow just skimmed off the powdery part of the snow. It left the ice and hardened snow. At one point we saw where a car had slid off the highway and apparently spun around on the ground beyond the edge of the highway. There was a police car there helping. Mark almost felt like turning around and going home, but we made it to work safely. The weather reports are predicting that the lows for the next three days will be in the single digits, possibly even below 0* (F) on Sunday.
