A time and a place

For any of you who are close enough to come to Sherill’s memorial service, we now have confirmation that the service will be at West Hills Covenant Church (5815 SW Gillcrest Ct, Portland, OR 97221) at 3:30 this Sunday afternoon.  There will be a reception following with an open mike time for any who may want to briefly share thoughts or stories about Sherill.

Let me also take this opportunity to share with you some wisdom the family has gained through this whole experience.  Don’t put off planning for the eventuality of your death.  Sherill never wanted to give it any thought, but now the family is wondering what her favorite hymn was, or what her wishes were on any number of given subjects.  This has certainly opened my eyes and I’m going to be talking with my husband about having a will, an advanced directive, and a funeral plan.  Don’t assume you still have lots of time.  We never know what the future holds for any of us.

I’ll get down off my soapbox now…

  1. Hi Denise,
We at Door County North are so sorry for your loss. Please give our condolences to your family. I will be connecting with you via your personal e-mail. I just got back from a traumatic trip to CA., dealing with hospice care for my aunt. Love you and thinking about you.
