Get set…again

Today went a little better.  Mark gave me some specific cleaning assignments and I completed them, so I’m feeling better about myself.  In the meantime, he managed to get things pretty much ready in the RV and we also got his motorcycle loaded into the pickup truck.  We still have a fair amount to do tomorrow, and then we hope to spend the night tomorrow night in the RV so that we can pretty much head out on Monday.

A resting place

Fred and his son, David, went to the funeral home to take care of details and they found what I am told is a really pretty coffin.  I asked if it was a short one, and David said she’ll have room enough to roll around in it.  I hope so because she may be turning in her grave if the family keeps going the way it is.  Prayers are very much needed for unity, patience, and grace. R.I.P. Sherill!

This morning I was taking a shower and had just wrapped a towel around myself when Fred walked in with the phone and told me there was an important phone call for me.  I took the phone and a man said, “Hello, Denise!  I’m Officer Seigler from the King City Police.  I’m sorry to have to tell you this, but your sister died this morning.”  When I hung up, I told Fred and he burst into tears.  The whole family met at the rehab center and sat with Sherill’s body until the undertaker came to take her away.  We were all in shock.  It has been a rough day, but I want to dedicate the rest of this post to Sherill’s memory. Back in touch!

I arrived safe and sound in Oregon on Tuesday evening.  Sherill and Fred don’t have a computer, so I brought an old hotspot with me and got a new SIM card on Thursday.  I had been trying ever since to get back online, but I couldn’t get connected.  This morning, I took my laptop and hotspot to a Verizon store and they couldn’t help me get on either.  I finally bought a new hotspot, so here I am! Job interview and etc.

I showed the pictures of Mark blow-torching the cellar doors yesterday so that he could get in and turn on the water.  I failed to mention that when he tried to turn on the water pump, there was a crack and water sprayed everywhere, so we don’t have water to the house yet.  This also means we don’t have heat in the house because our registers run water through to heat the house.  Mark called a plumber this morning and they said they’d try to make it to our house by this afternoon, but it didn’t happen.  Hopefully, they can come and fix the leak tomorrow morning.
