You know you’re in Door County when…

…Mark gets a chance to wear a Viking hat! This was a picture and story I forgot to tell on Sunday but thought you might enjoy. We went to Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant (the one with the goats on the roof!) in Sister Bay for lunch after church, and while we were waiting to get a table, we went into their boutique to see what wonderful things they had.

By fall, it is completely overrun with everything from ferns and goldenrod to Queen Ann’s lace and a sort of locust tree (Robinia hispida) we can’t seem to get rid of. My new Brother

A couple of weeks ago, my old Brother sewing machine started skipping stitches, so I had Mark take it to a sewing machine repair shop in Green Bay called Ana’s Sewing Studio. On the way there, it poured down rain and he wasn’t wearing a helmet, so he got soaked! He was going to set the tent up by himself and it would be two hours before the rest of his group showed up. I came back later to have breakfast with him at the Firemen’s Pancake Breakfast. And then, yesterday afternoon, he took off for an overnighter at Reedsburg, WI where there was to be a Legacy Ride today.
