Mind you, Kader doesn’t have a learner’s permit or a driver’s license yet, but she has plans to do both next month. However, she wants a car to get around in this winter when it’s cold, and we thought it best that Mark go with her now so that he could check the car out for her and make sure it was good.

Our kids are flying the coup!
Yesterday, the first of our Turkish kids to leave was Aleyna. We don’t know if she’ll be returning next summer or not. The others took her to the airport in Chicago and she flew back to Istanbul.

A friend of mine at church, Kathy Rimsha, has been teaching Sunday School lessons to the handful of children at Friends Community Church for the last year. A month or so ago, she told me she was going to have to cancel for a couple of months as her daughter was undergoing radiation for breast cancer and her family didn’t want her to be exposed to any illness the children might be carrying, especially the coronavirus.

Mark and I are in the middle of refinancing our house through our mortgage company to get a better interest rate, so all of the sudden, I’m getting scam calls from “mortgage companies”. Scammers are getting too smart for our good these days!

I don’t know if this is just happening here in Door County or if it’s around the country, but we have had a whole bunch of birds trying to fly into our windows around the house in the last month. I heard one fly into the basement window at church in Sturgeon Bay once too. What’s gotten into the birds?
