From Pendleton, OR

I had a migraine last night, so I didn’t feel up to writing, but I’m writing today from the Walmart in Pendleton.  We’re about to have breakfast.

Yesterday, around 4:00 in the morning, Tucson started barking.  She was barking because Dave and Sue were leaving their house to go to the airport.  Their daughter in Kansas, Katie, is about to have her first baby, so they are going there for a couple of weeks so that they can see their new grandbaby.

Mark and I got up several hours later and made all the preparations for travel.  Then we met over at Mom’s house.  I had to do a clothing exchange there because I leave my warmest clothes in Oregon so I don’t have to carry them in my small RV closet.

After taking care of business there and saying our goodbyes, we went over to where Fred is staying because he had wanted us to stop and say goodbye to him on our way out of town.  However, when we got there, we learned that his son had taken him to the hospital where he was going to stay for the night.  My relationship to him wasn’t close enough for them to be able to give me any details about why he was taken to the hospital, but they were able to tell me that his son had called and said that he would be back today, so it must not have been too serious.

My camera battery is dead – I took the above picture with my phone – so I wasn’t able to take any pictures on our way here.  The trip was pretty uneventful except for my headache.  I’m feeling better this morning so far.  We’re about to pull out, so I’ll end here until tonight.
