Going for a Sunday drive

This morning we went to the Friends church in Sturgeon Bay that we had gone to whenever we had a chance last summer.  This is the church where The Old Rugged Cross was first performed at a revival meeting.  They have a monument to that effect beside the church building.

I had always wanted to take pictures inside the church last summer but was kind of shy about it. Not this year!

This piano is an antique that needs a lot of restoration, but the piano is like the Stradivarius of pianos. The church has been trying to raise money to get it repaired.

We walked in during singing and sat in our old pew, and when the pastor saw us from up front she smiled and said she was so happy to see us again.  Afterward she told us that today is her birthday and we were her presents!

We had kind of intended to get some groceries while we were in “the big city” and come home, but we had our cameras with us and, well… we kind of got distracted.  First we stopped in at an antique store Mark had wanted to go in last summer.  Then we were going to drive home, but…

We stopped at the wharf in Sister Bay.

We took a road we'd never been on before and ended up at one of the Liberty Grove city parks. It was quite windy on Lake Michigan today.
