From Elgin, IL

We got a really late start today, plus the fact that we needed to stop for groceries in Sturgeon Bay, so we entered Illinois in the dark.  We got to the campground we were hoping to stay in and at first we saw a closed sign and were afraid we were too late.  Fortunately we found out that only the Burnidge Forest Preserve was closed but the campground was still open.  We were so grateful!

Here are a few pictures I took along the way:

I've been fascinated with the variety of grasses along the Wisconsin highways.

Not much else to report about the trip, but I want to try leaving you with a couple video clips Kathy showed us at the party last night.  She had gone around taking pictures of us all last week without saying why.  She found a site where she could put our faces on in place of musicians.  We laughed so hard last night, I thought you’d get a kick out of them too.
