Mike and Cindy

When Mark and I were working in Alaska last summer, we were working for Mike Jernigan and his parents.  Towards the end of the summer Mike’s fiancé, Cindy, came to spend a week with him and the moment she saw me she recognized me from high school!

Mark does more with Facebook than I do and he’s been connected with Mike ever since we worked for him.  We liked the Jernigans, so it was with great joy that we discovered pictures on Facebook of Mike’s and Cindy’s wedding in Hawaii.

I mention this because a couple days ago Mark saw on Facebook that they were in Houston, TX and were heading toward San Antonio.  Mark wrote to Mike with details about where we’re staying, but he didn’t hear whether Mike got the information.  Today I was doing laundry in the laundry room and Mark went to the office for something.  When he came back he told me that one of the employees told him that a friend of his had just checked in, someone from Tok RV Village.  He told Mark what site they were in and it just happened to be near the laundry room.

Mark and I went over and Cindy saw us first.  She gave me a big hug while Mike and Mark started talking.  We had so much to catch up on that they invited us into their RV and we visited for a while.  I gave them all our phone numbers and we’re going to try to get together to do something with them while they’re here.  I am so happy that they accepted Mark’s invitation to stay here.  They came to watch Mike’s niece in a swim meet not far from here so we don’t have exclusive access to them, but I can’t tell you what a joy it is to see friendly faces here.  It almost makes me wish we were going to be working in Tok again this summer!
